What is collagen?

Collagen is the molecule that holds the tissues of the body together and is therefore often called the "glue" that holds the body together. Collagen plays a major role in the structure of skin, tendons, blood vessels, cartilage, bones and connective tissue.

What are the health benefits of collagen?

Our skin is made up of collagen, which begins to deteriorate in our mid-twenties and is accelerated by other lifestyle and environmental factors. Collagen supplements can increase skin moisture, improve moisture levels, promote skin healing, and support hair and nails.

Does collagen powder work?

Research shows the benefits of taking collagen, but you need to take collagen regularly

Will collagen help joint pain?

Joint pain can be caused by many different things, one of the most common causes of joint pain is damage to tendons, ligaments or cartilage. Tendons, ligaments and cartilage all contain collagen

Is collagen a protein?

Yes! Collagen is the most common protein found in the body.

What is Hydrolyzed Collagen Peptide?

Collagen peptides are isolated amino acids that the body can easily process and use. "Hydrolysis" simply means that the hydrogen bonds between molecules have been removed so that the collagen peptides become more accessible.

Is collagen intake safe?

Collagen supplements are generally safe. Pregnant women should not take collagen supplements without consulting a doctor simply because there is a lack of research proving its safety. It is important to only purchase collagen supplements from brands that can guarantee that the supplement is not contaminated or exposed to heavy metals. Those with food allergies should also be wary of where the collagen source comes from.

How long does it take for collagen to work?

It depends on what you are taking the collagen for. Studies have shown that those taking collagen for joint pain and skin elasticity saw benefits after taking collagen supplements daily for 4-8 weeks. Like all supplements, collagen is not a miracle cure, but sticking to daily supplementation will yield the best results.

What is marine collagen?

Marine collagen (ie, marine collagen) contains type 1 collagen and is usually isolated from fish. This type of collagen is great for making use of all the leftovers from processing fish because the collagen is usually isolated from parts of fish that are often discarded. Collagen is not suitable for vegans or strict vegetarians because it is always isolated from animal products. However, marine collagen is not processed or mixed with collagen derived from pork, and therefore marine collagen is suitable for all those who do not eat pork.

How much collagen should be taken daily?

Studies have shown that 5-10 g/day of collagen for 6-8 weeks can produce good results

What is  Joint Rewind, Joint therapy ?

Joint Rewind is a special mix for the joints. Joint rewind contains Chondroitin Sulfate and collagen. Chondritin sulfate is found in cartilage, ingestion of chondritin sulfate has shown clinical benefit in symptomatic osteoarthritis of the fingers, knees, hips, and low back.

What is  Age Rewind, Skin Therapy ?

The Age Rewind, Skin Therapy capsules contain a mixture specially designed for the skin, including hyaluronic acid, which plays a key role in the body in protecting the skin's moisture, as well as containing collagen and vitamin C, which supports the body's collagen production.

What is  Amino Marine  collagen

Amino Marine Collagen is a pure collagen powder produced from Icelandic fish roe, mainly from cod caught wild in the Atlantic Ocean.

What is Feel Iceland?

Feel Iceland is the largest collagen brand in Iceland, known for its quality collagen supplements. The company puts a lot of effort into sustainability and creating clean and effective products. The collagen powder is mainly derived from the cod skin of wild-caught cod from the Atlantic Ocean. The cod carcass, which is otherwise a by-product of fish processing, is thereby used to create a food supplement that has a positive effect on people's health.

What is Feel Iceland collagen made of?

Our collagen is a type 1 hydrolyzed marine collagen derived from wild Atlantic cod that is sustainably caught in the icy seas off the coast of Iceland. The fish skin is hydrolyzed, which means it is broken down into smaller molecules to make it easier for your body to absorb. Our collagen contains 18 vital amino acids to maintain skin elasticity, ligaments and bone density.

Why should I take collagen?

Our body produces collagen in large quantities until the age of 25, after that age the production decreases, and the modern diet of Icelanders does not contain a large amount of collagen, and therefore we get little from the diet itself, and therefore it is important to take collagen supplements. This decreasing production of collagen can lead to two things in our body:

1.      Aging of the external appearance of the body in the form of fine lines and wrinkles

2.      Problems like joint pain and stiffness

How much do I need to take in to see a difference?

We recommend 1-2 scoops (5-10 g/day) of the powder for 6-8 weeks and then you should start to feel a difference.

I use collagen facial cream. Do I also need to take collagen as a dietary supplement through the digestive tract?

When hydrolyzed collagen is taken orally, it is absorbed directly into the bloodstream through the small intestine, which is much more effective than putting something on the surface of the skin.

Is oral collagen intended for both women and men? And at what age?

Yes, our products can be used by everyone. We recommend that people over the age of 25 use our products. At the age of 25, the body begins to produce less collagen and therefore especially at the age when collagen supplementation is needed. Younger customers such as athletes and people who exercise often use our products on a daily basis.

What do the experts say?

Clinical studies have also shown that oral supplementation of hydrolyzed collagen can help reduce joint pain and overall skin health (Feel Iceland Website 2021).

What is the difference between bovine and marine collagen?

We only use marine collagen that is made from fish skin that is sustainably caught off the coast of Iceland. In the United States, the most common type of collagen is land animal collagen made from skin, muscle from beef, chicken, and pork. Marine animals cannot carry infectious diseases, as terrestrial animals often can, which can spread to the products of such animals.
